MEME ROOTS
Yaju Senpai & Inmu
Yaju Senpai is the internet nickname for a performer in chapter four of the Japanese adult video “A Midsummer Night’s Lewd Dream”. Clips of his expressions, voice and dialogue became recurring jokes in images and videos.
Inmu is a shortened form of the video’s Japanese title. Online, it also refers to the fan-made videos and memes built from this and related material. Memorable lines become catchphrases used in comments. OtoMAD is a type of video remix that arranges voices and sound effects to music.
INMU KING is an AI-generated song inspired by these memes. The song and music video use Yaju Senpai’s familiar image and catchphrases.
